چکیده

Aim. To reveal the features of amino acid composition carrot α-tubulin isotypes that potentially determine natural tolerance to dinitroaniline herbicides. Methods. Literature and database search. Comparison protein sequences structures: multiple sequence alignment, phylogenetic profiling, ligand structure modeling, etc. Results. Genomic proteomic analysis Daucus carota has revealed at least eight unique differ in gene loci. Remarkable differences dinitroanilinebinding-like (DBL) region analyzed have been revealed, which may be reason its resistance these compounds. Сonclusions. Differences acids positions canonical mutations – Cys4 (TBA1, 2, 3, 6, 7 8), Thr53 (TBA6), Ile202 (TBA1 7) Met202 (TBA5), as well previously undescribed non-canonical substitutions Ile4 (TBA4 5), Cys52 Ser201 3 8) Val194 were noted associated with

Novel α-Tubulin Mutations Conferring Resistance to Dinitroaniline Herbicides in Lolium rigidum

The dinitroaniline herbicides (particularly trifluralin) have been globally used in many crops for selective grass weed control. Consequently, trifluralin resistance has been documented in several important crop weed species and has recently reached a level of concern in Australian Lolium rigidum populations. Here, we report novel mutations in the L. rigidum α-tubulin gene which confer resistan...

Mutations in α-tubulin confer dinitroaniline resistance at a cost to microtubule function

Mutations in α-tubulin confer dinitroaniline resistance at a cost to microtubule function. Protozoan microtubules are sensitive to disruption by dinitroanilines, compounds that kill intracellular Toxoplasma gondii parasites without affecting microtubules in vertebrate host cells. We previously isolated a number of resistant Toxoplasma lines that harbor mutations to the ␣1-tubulin gene. Some of ...

Amino Acid Biosynthesis Inhibiting Herbicides

The identification of herbicide families that act through the inhibition of amino acid biosynthesis has resulted in revolutionary progress in agricultural practices. This review describes three herbicide classes which act through this mode-of-action; including glufosinate (also called phosphinothricin, Liberty, Ignite, or Finale) which inhibits ammonia assimilation, glyphosate (Roundup, Tou...

Inhibition of Toxoplasma gondii replication by dinitroaniline herbicides.

Submicromolar concentrations of several dinitroaniline herbicides have been found to specifically inhibit intracellular replication of the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii. IC50 concentrations for T. gondii survival were approximately 100 nM for ethalfluralin and oryzalin and approximately 300 nM for trifluralin. Primary human fibroblasts employed as host cells for parasite culture were una...
